The Bolney Wine Estate in Sussex, England is a multi award-winning family-owned business dedicated to producing top-quality wines.
The Bolney identity was completely overhauled to bring it in line with the premium quality of their wines. This was taken through to the wine labels (red, white and sparkling), chutneys & jams and then to the website. On-shelf standout was achieved by using large, simple, white labels, in contrast to the vast majority of other busy designs vying for attention.

a Sussex first – Rosso Vermouth.
Bolney was the first English vineyard to produce red wine commercially and Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth is another first for the county of Sussex. It’s a natural step, but a bold marketing move, to enter the reviving vermouth category.
The aromatised and fortified wine is made with botanicals, including sloes and elderberries, grown in Bolney’s own vineyard hedgerows.
Not a traditional vermouth, the brief was to create a design that was upmarket and in-keeping with the Bolney brand, with an almost artisan, alchemist’s feel. It had to have impact and standout on-shelf behind the bar.
